You go out in the sun and it doesn’t always work out for you. You won't know it until it's too late, and everyone else will be laughing at you, and you will go home alone. We are extremists, sure, but we’re also not wrong. Here are five tips to ensure maximum effectiveness in protecting your tattoos during the ol’ "hey, let's go outside and stay there" game.
Guard Your Precious Skin
Sunlight is probably your biggest issue in terms of fading. The more sunlight your skin sees, the faster the fade. We fight the fade with a complete barrier method. Our validated broad spectrum SPF 50 products create a barrier between your skin and those harmful UVA/UVB rays. Except our barrier goes on completely clear and leaves a satin finish so that you can showcase your art. We hear teens use a barrier method on spring break too, but that’s totally different. Point is, you need protection from the sun, even when you’re unaware that you’re soaking it up, like those quick zips past a window in your office or those daily drives to work.
Become One With The Ingredients
You want to be able to pronounce the ingredients you put on your skin. Leave the wacky names for your Chemistry class. Use INK the original’s gear, and you're in great shape. Why? The ingredients we have are designed specifically for ink – all skin tones and all skin types. We left out all the bad stuff like oxybenzone, mineral oil, petroleum, silicones, parabens, sulfates and phthalates. Try saying that three times…in Spanish. No gracias. We only left in the good stuff. Good for your skin, and good for our oceans. We’re talking reef-safe. Give a nod to Mother Nature with our reef-safe SPF 50 Spray and Brightener Balm when you’re catching some waves or going for a dive.
Try Applying Product This Way
You don't get somewhere and then slather the good stuff on your skin. You do it right after you get out of the bathtub or the shower. And take care of the whole rig. Don't try to spot check. Our stuff is designed to protect a Picasso from a trip to the beach. Now listen, we haven’t seen you all naked, but we’re sure the art that you got on your body is worth putting on the refrigerator door. You should apply our products to your entire skin, not just the inked skin. Everything we created functions as an ultra-rich moisturizer to protect hard-worked and hard-won graphics. You might even forget they’re there, but your tattoos won’t… even when the sun is at its strongest between 10am and 4pm.
Get Ahead Of Your Timing
Work in sunscreen at least 15 minutes before exposure to the sun (or a tanning booth) since it takes about that time to absorb into your skin. We’re going for maximum effectiveness here. Wait too long, and you could fry. Once you’re out there, sweat all you want, our SPF 50 Spray and SPF 50 Sticks stay put. Both products are 80-minute water-resistant and they’ve validated with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Add to that zero stickiness, residue or fragrance. Even if you go camping, hiking or climbing, and miss a shower, your skin will remain moisturized and protected. That’s the beauty of our products.
Invite Hydration To Your Party
Say you’re out in the sun or heat for an extended period without water. Dehydration will stress your skin out. When you reduce the humidity, you also reduce the life of your skin, and everything that was drawn on top of it. So you want to remember to hydrate your skin from the inside. Increase your water intake, eat more salmon and nuts for their fatty acids, and aim for at least seven hours of sleep each night. Stop looking at the tattoo, start taking care of you. Once you get there, you’ll need to retain that hydration. INK the original Brightener works its magic on your art thanks to its ultra-moisturizing properties. It’ll stay with you again and again, even with its rich concentrations. Pair it with an SPF and you’re golden.
